Teaser for Airlock from the makers of The Tunnel

The guys that brought us the terrific Torrent-released (tell me that’s not a smart way to go!?) movie “The Tunnel” have another project coming up. “Airlock”, a new series backed by Screen Australia, is currently conducting a crowd-funding campaign – get on it!

The teaser trailer was released today to help butter up those wallets and purses :

The first look teaser for the sci-fi/thriller series, “Airlock”, backed by Screen Australia and to be distributed on controversial torrent networks is now available at http://kck.st/1i7oikL

The Australian Government’s funding body for the Australian screen production industry has shown significant support for the edge of your seat, never-seen-before online project – investing $350,000 in “Airlock”.

The three x television half hour series from Distracted Media’s Enzo Tedeschi and Julian Harvey launched on Kickstarter Australia last week to crowd-fund a further $100,000 to contribute to casting, production and cutting edge visual effects.

“The backing by Screen Australia for “Airlock” signifies the growing acceptance of unconventional and new ways to distribute film and television content – especially in a time when internet censorship, restrictions, geo-blocks and piracy is hotly contested locally. Since releasing The Tunnel our core fan base has continued to demand to have a voice in how and when they consume their chosen entertainment content – and that is why we are going to continue to support online audiences and are doing so with ”Airlock”. This first look teaser is a great sneak-peek into the series and we are certain it won’t disappoint lovers of the science-fiction/thriller genre” said Distracted Media’s Enzo Tedeschi and Julian Harvey.

In deep space, a derelict ship docks with an isolated space station. The ship isn’t answering any radio calls and the scanners show no life forms. Security Officer, Jonah, is tasked with the investigation. But once on board, instead of answers, he finds the crew murdered and a destitute group of stow-away asylum seekers who have a secret that may threaten humanity itself. He must overcome intergalactic racism and prejudices generations old in order to save those he can and warn humanity of the impending alien threat.

Distracted Media first hit headlines in 2011 when the pair turned to crowd-funding to raise money for their free feature length horror, The Tunnel which has been viewed by an audience of over 12 million across multiple platforms. With many awards for their first independent film production, Distracted Media returned as winners of the 2011 MOVIE EXTRA WEBFEST 2.0 and delivered the highly anticipated multiple-award winning Event Zero, a suspenseful seven part web-series shown at festivals globally.

The “Airlock” crowd-funding campaign will run until Thursday December 12, 2013 and crowd-funding pledges can be made at http://kck.st/1i7oikL
