That’s no Moon, it’s a New Moon!

Chris Weitz will inherit Gary Whitta’s chair at the table of the upcoming “Star Wars” spin-off, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The rom-com vet has been hired to redo Whitta’s work on the movie, believed to be a prequel featuring the characters of Han Solo and Boba Fett.

Filmmaker, author, and writer Weitz boasts an impressive and versatile CV that features such credits as “About a Boy”, “Cinderella”, “A Better Life”, “Twilight : New Moon”, and “The Golden Compass”.

The film, to be directed by “Godzilla” alum Gareth Edwards, has already began casting. In addition to the Solo and Fett rumours, it’s believed a number of notable actresses are testing for the female lead – who some are speculating to be a young Princess Leia.

The untitled “Star Wars” spin-off is due December 16, 2016.
