The Ghostbusters are back in town!

Who ya Gonna Call?

“Ghostbusters 3” is on…….

Only you’ve got to hold a joystick and pop a cartridge in a console to see it.

Yep, the sequel we’ve all been waiting for is bypassing theatres and headed straight to the video game console.

All four members of the movie team — Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Bill Murray and Harold Ramis — will be giving voice and likeness rights for the game. Some supporting castmembers have signed up as well, including William Atherton, Brian Doyle Murray and Annie Potts.

According to Variety, film scribes Aykroyd and Ramis will pen a story for the vidgame that takes place in the early ’90s, after “Ghostbusters II,” during a new ghoul invasion of New York City.
“We noticed we did well on ‘Scarface’ and were alert for new opportunities to turn iconic film products into games in a way that is a new manifestation of the franchise,” Vivendi Games CEO Bruce Hack said. “‘Ghostbusters’ is unquestionably among the small number of movies in that class.”

I hope what Dan Aykroyd’s thinking here is that the game will see renewed interest in “Ghostbusters” and increase the chances of a “Ghostbusters 3” being made… because I’d be sad to think he pissed his script away on a video-game.
