The next two Transformers movies revealed!

Earlier today Deadline reported that Akiva Goldsman had come up with the definitive storyline for an inevitable “Transformers 5”, one that Mark Wahlberg would again star in and Michael Bay would return to direct. In addition, an animated “Transformers” movie – one that centers on Cybertron – has been commissioned from writers Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari, of “Ant-Man” fame.

The two films were the result of a mega meeting of minds that came together on the Paramount lot with everyone from Robert Kirkman, Art Marcum & Matt Holloway, Zak Penn, and Steven DeKnight brainstorming over potential possibilities for the “Transformers” brand. Goldman supervised the meeting, and everybody later pitched their ideas to Bay, Steven Spielberg, Hasbro’s Brian Goldner and producers Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian and Don Murphy.

Spielberg apparently liked five of the ideas. Goldsman’s “Transformers 5” would go first, followed by the animated movie, and then a couple of others.

Later, Michael Bay tweeted that he hasn’t committed to an idea for “Transformers 5” yet and that he’d be discussing it with Spielberg today. In other words, he’s confirmed everything else in the report.
