The Weeksly Late Edition – 17/11/06

Good evening Ladies & Gentlemen, and welcome back once again to “The Weeksly Late Edition”. Hopefully you all had yourselves one heck of a lovely week, like me & my multiple hours of playtime already devoted to “Guitar Hero 2” on the Playstation, and my curiousity at the fact that my new phone won’t stop blinking at me. Anyhow, on with the show type thing:

My Television Is Trying To Kill Me

Alright here’s one of the most interesting things going around the net right now regarding one of my favourite shows of the last few years – no, not “Breaking Bonaduce” (which is truly fuckin’awesome by the way) – I’m talking about the people of “Lost”. Now, bear in mind that this is in fact pure 100% rumour at this point, it appears as though we may be losing yet another cast member, and this time it’s not due to a drunk driving arrest – the big rumour is…… we may very well be seeing the end of Matthew Fox sometime shortly after the show returns in the U.S. early next year. Now, due to the restraining order he has in place, I can’t directly converse with Damon Lindelof (even by e-mail… very harsh), but the always lovely Kristin over at E! Online hasn’t hit that particular legal wall yet, and he gave her a bit of a response to the rumour. Now, I think the soon to be married (Congratulations once again to her) TV Diva may be reading a little bit too much into it, but you never know.

OK, onto good old “Survivor”, my most favourite of favourites. Last episode of course saw the big double vote off of Rebecca Borman and Jenny Guzon-Bae at Tribal Council – tasty no? That leaves only the nine remaining castaways – my favourite to date being Ozzy, which means it’s only what now……. 6 episodes left? Something like that anyway… – it recently got announced that the next season will be shot in Fiji, and from what I hear, they may once again be reintroducing a former castway or two – that of course also stems from the growing repeated rumour mongering that another edition of “All Star” may be on the way very shortly, so we’ll have to see what pans out. Lastly with Probst-ville, something is driving me nuts about Jonathan on this season – is it just me, or does he look really friggin’ familiar? I cannot think where, but I know that I’ve seen his mug somewhere before.

Now, I don’t think I’ve mentioned this yet but good old NBC man – I can’t say enough good things about these dudes. Hot on the heels of the full season pick-up of “Studio 60” comes the good word that “Friday Night Lights” managed to get the same. Fuckin’ outstanding I say. Hot chicks, killer Football action, great storylines – check it out.

Finally, on the opposite end of the spectrum, namely cancellations, comes the word from FOX that the seemingly loved but quickly dispatched “Vanished” is doing that very thing from the small screen. I didn’t get a chance to see it, but for those of you who did, and liked what they saw, here’s a little bit of good news for you:

Sara, the wife of Georgia Senator Jeffrey Collins (John Allen Nelson), has been missing, and the lack of new developments continues to take an emotional toll on the Senator and his family. As FBI agents Mei (Ming-Na), Lucas (Eddie Cibrian) and Tyner (Esai Morales) pursued leads connected to Saras kidnappers, they discovered a link between a death row inmate and new evidence. Meanwhile, the Senators young daughter, Marcy Collins (Margarita Levieva), contemplates blackmailing newly appointed Supreme Court Justice Wallace Rainer (Christopher Cousins) by revealing the paternity of her unborn child to reporter Judy Nash (Rebecca Gayheart). The remaining four original episodes will wind down the investigation and reveal the mystery behind Sara and her location. These episodes can be seen in high-definition streaming video using the FOX Full Throttle video player. The player, delivered by Fox Interactive Media, offers a high-definition quality viewing experience.

VANISHED, produced by 20th Century Fox Television, was created by Josh Berman. Berman, Mimi Leder, Chuck Pratt Jr. and Carla Kettner serve as executive producers.

Editors please note: Back-to-back HOUSE episodes will air on two Mondays, Dec. 11 and 18 (8:00-9:00 PM and 9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT).

Oh, before I forget as well, this is strictly old news, but being a fan of “Alias” & “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”, I was watching a couple of seasons of the Buff-ster over the last couple of weeks, and I was surprised to see Kevin Weisman AKA Marshall Flinkman in a few episodes of season 5 as one of Glory’s minions, Dreg. Nothing noteworthy, I just thought it was pretty cool.

The Most Salacious Piece Of Tabloid Gossip This Week

This is….. How do I begin…. Look, read this as always with thanks to the IMDB:

Loken and Rodriguez in Lesbian Relationship?
Terminator 3 star Kristanna Loken has given her biggest hint yet she is dating Lost actress Michelle Rodriguez. Loken was recently interviewed by gay publication The Advocate, where she was asked about stories linking her with her sexy co-star on the set of BloodRayne. When asked about rumours that the two hooked up during the shoot, Loken laughed and took a deep breath before replying, “There is the $64,000 question. Um…I don’t even know how to answer that.” She was then asked if the two had fun partying together, Loken replied, “Uh-huh,” while smiling slyly. When the interviewer said her silence “said volumes,” the actress replied, “Just don’t look upstairs, OK?” The couple have been frequently photographed together with their arms around each other in Los Angeles.

So….. Friggin’….. Hot.

Bonus DVD

Normally, I just talk up the Oz releases, but here’s something a little different, and I’ll tell ya why: Sometimes, I think I’m one of those few people that really looks forward to whatever Edward Burns puts out. From “Brothers McMullen”, “She’s The One”, “No Looking Back” and more (although he didn’t direct it, I love “Confidence” as well). So, with that in mind, it’s unfortunate that a lot of those fans of his early work didn’t give his latest film “The Groomsmen” a watch – cause let me give you the honest truth – it is absolutely his best film since “Brothers”. Reminds me a lot of “Beautiful Girls” in a way, so if you haven’t followed his career after the first couple of films, give it a whirl.

Here’s the features:

– Commentary by Edward Burns
– Deleted Scenes
– Blooper Reel
– Behind The Scenes
– Music Video
