There’s no Navy SEALS series, and yet Act of Valor is headed to TV!? Priorities, Telepeeps!

Yeah, I’m sorry… did you say they’re doing an “Act of Valor” series!? OK, well and good, but where’s “Navy SEALS” the TV series!?

Sheesh.

Anywho, The Hollywood Reporter says National Geographic, Relativity and Tandem Greenlight are teaming on a small-screen version of the 2012 feature. “Band of Brothers” producer Erik Jendresen will write the series, about pararescue jumpers.

“The film Act of Valor was ground-breaking in its unique approach, and we look forward to applying its gritty, realistic vision to television,” said Tom Forman, CEO of Relativity Television.

“With the incredible success of our original scripted feature films, we are expanding our offerings with a high quality scripted series we know will resonate with our viewers,” said Howard Owens, President of National Geographic Channels. “After the success of our documentary series Inside Combat Rescue about PJs in Afghanistan, we wanted to tell more incredible stories of these heroes, and this series will allow us to do so in an exciting and dramatic way, while still delivering real, authentic stories our viewers expect from us.”

The series is expected to begin filming in early 2014.

And just to serve as a reminder as to the geniuses of “Navy SEALS”, and why it should be a series, here’s a few choice moments from the 1990 film :
