Tom Hanks courted for Kathryn Bigelow’s next

Tom Hanks is considering saying ‘yay’ to a lead role in director Kathryn Bigelow’s “Triple Frontier” (aka “Sleeping Dogs”).

According to Deadline, the Mark Boal penned drama is set in the organized crime haven that exists in the border zone between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil. No word on who Hanks would play, but I would assume not one of the crime bosses?

There are five lead roles in the film – which is expected to film early next year – so the site suggests casting will be completed sooner rather than later. Somne of the other heavywights rumoured for roles in the film include Christian Bale, Sean Penn, Jeremy Renner and Hanks’ “Catch Me If You Can” co-star Leonardo DiCaprio.
