Before she dances with dust and gets about smelling like Motor Oil, future “Mad Max Fury Road” (yeah, much like a conversation with an introvert, they still insist it’s coming) starlet Adelaide Clemens will be seen in the Aussie thriller “Wasted on the Young”.
This, the story of a highschool party that gets way out of hand, looks – from the trailer – like it’s been a nice dramatic warm-up lap for the blond Aussie; one would assume it’s a plus walking onto the set of a “Mad Max” film knowing how to hold and fire a gun, shout, look legitimately scared and, at times, get worked up (be it about an oil-taker riding mad-man slaying your folks, or, as is the case here, a fellow student’s wrongdoings).
The flick, directed by West Australian Ben C.Young and co-starring the likes of Alex Russell and Oliver Ackland, looks and sounds a little like, say, “Gossip Girl”… on a bender. Looks fresh and fun enough that it should appeal to a similar crowd. In any case, promising looking start to Mr Young’s career. And Ms Clemens, of course.
“Wasted on the Young” is out in March by Paramount.
