Trailer: Happyish

The first trailer for Showtime’s Steve Coogan comedy series “Happyish” has been released.

Created, written and executive produced by Shalom Auslander, the show follows a 44-year-old father as he re-evaluates his job and life after his new boss incorporates terms foreign to him in the workplace: words like “viral,” “digital and “social.” He contemplates whether he needs a personal rebranding or if he has a “low joy ceiling,” and sets out on a pursuit for happiness.

Initially Phillip Seymour Hoffman was attached to star. Coogan got the role following Hoffman’s death last year.

Ken Kwapis directed the pilot and exec produces.

“Happyish” will premiere on Showtime on April 26 at 9:30 p.m.
