Travolta and Cage to Face-Off again!

There was talk years ago of some sort of sequel to John Woo’s “Face/Off”, at one stage with John Travolta and Nicolas Cage reprising their roles and later, which I think was a cool idea, with females switching mugs.

This is not an update on the sequel.

Sorry.

Instead, Cage and Travolta may be reteaming for not one but two unrelated projects, says Vulture. One is John McTiernan’s “Shrapnel”, which may go as early as this Summer, about “a former Bosnian soldier who seeks vengeance against the American who badly wounded him by disguising a deadly war game as a friendly backwoods hunting trip.” The project was meant to go earlier but McTiernan had to go and get busted for not claiming knowledge of the wire-tapping of “Dark Knight” and “Rollerball” producer Chuck Roven.

Amusingly enough, Roven is the producer of the other flick Cage and Travolta are circling, ”Sea Trial”, from ”City Island” writer-director Raymond De Felitta. This project hasn’t got financing yet so it’ll either happen with Travolta and Cage after “Shrapnel” or it’ll happen later… with other actors.

“Sea Trial” is based on a book by Frank De Felitta (Raymond’s father) and fixes on a couple who soon realizes they’re on a Yacht cruise through hell.

Hopefully the joy of working together again sparks Cage and Travolta’s interest in a “Face/Off” sequel.

Sorry Jack, Chucky’s Back!
