Tudyk and Staite on Serenity 2

One says its happening, the other says it isn’t

A couple of weeks ago Moviehole talked to actor Alan Tudyk who mentioned that there’s renewed interest in a “Serenity” sequel – despite the fact that everybody else on the planet seems to have received intent suggesting it’s not.

Naturally, Tudyk’s comments were shrugged off by the non-believing fans. “Must be an old interview” said one, “Taken out of context” said another, and “The interview isn’t real” said some other virginal needle-nose. Well, I can tell you that it was indeed real, it was a new interview – it was to promote Tudyk’s appearance in “Death at a Funeral” – and he did indeed say that there’s talk of a new “Serenity” movie.

But don’t take my word for it…. Take his. Here he is on video, at the recent Armageddon convention here in Australia, saying exactly what he told Moviehole.

Funny thing is, Jewel Staite doesn’t know anything about it. She too assumes Tudyk must have been taken out of context.

So what’s the deal here? Fillion and Tudyk say it’s happening, yet Staite says it’s not? We really need Joss Whedon to pop online and say yay or nay.

But at last the “did Tudyk actually say that?” debate can end. He did. The End. Now realign the streamers on your handlebars. The fate of the film lies in Universal’s mittens.
