Alyson Hannigan (“Buffy,” “How I Met Your Mother”) and Megan Hilty (“Smash”) will play the roles originated by Diane Keaton and Goldie Hawn in the “First Wives Club” series at TV Land.
Produced by Jenny Bicks and Karen Rosenfelt and written by Rebecca Addelman, the single-camera comedy revolves around three women – all former classmates from the ’90s – who get back together after a friend dies in an accident. When they all realize their relationships are in trouble, they band together to tackle divorce, relationships and whatever else comes up with sorting out ones love life.
Hannigan’s character Maggie is an English professor who is struggling to put excitement back into her failing marriage. Hilty is Kim, a once successful actress – now “too old” for Hollywood – who is still hoping for a comeback.
In other TV news, Russell Tovey (“Looking”) is set for the second season of FBI Trainee series “Quantico”.
The role of “mischievous gadabout” Harry Doyle was created specifically for the actor.
The second season of “Quantico” airs Sundays in the Fall.
