TV News: Ridley Scott, Iliza Shlesinger, Common set shows at CBS, ABC & Fox

CBS is developing “Mrs. V. Mr.”, a legal drama from Ridley Scott, David Zucker and writer Brett Mahoney.

According to Variety, the project follows a prominent, larger-than-life L.A. defense attorney and the chief prosecutor for the DA’s office who are constantly at odds in the courtroom, but are a happily married couple who have to leave their rivalries at the door when it comes to raising their three willful kids.

ABC has nabbed a pilot script by Iliza Shlesinger for a comedy series.

The series will centre on a wife and mom, and her New York family, as they relocate to Dallas, Texas, after her husband suddenly divorces her and she’s left alone with their two children and a fledgling catering business, while also having to adjust to her newly single life in a town none of them fit in (via Variety).

Shlesinger created and wrote the pilot and will serve as producer.

Thomas Kail and Common are teaming up with Ian Edelman for “93 Til Infinity”, which has received a script commitment plus penalty at Fox.

The single-camera buddy comedy is written by Edelman and centers on a prolific (black) rapper from the 90’s, struggling in present day to figure out the next chapter of his life, who reconnects with his (white) best friend from middle school, struggling with family and real responsibilities, equally desperate for a midlife reboot (via Deadline).
