“Orange Is the New Black” star Laverne Cox will headline Fox’s upcoming telefilm remake of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”.
According to Variety, Cox will play “the sexually ambiguous flirtatious alien mad scientist Frank-N-Furter”.
Kenny Ortega will direct, choreograph and executive produce the telefilm which will air in fall 2016 on Fox.
Vincent D’Onofrio has nabbed the lead role in NBC’s “Emerald City”.
The actor will play the Wizard of Oz, described as “the enigmatic leader of Emerald City. A man of science in a world of magic, he rules through inspiration, fear and a tenuous accord with the grand witches” (via Variety).
“Emerald City” follows 20-year-old Dorothy Gale (Adria Arjona) and her K9 police dog from Kansas who, after a tornado, are transported to another world far away — a mystical land of competing kingdoms, lethal warriors, wicked witches, dark magic and a bloody battle for supremacy. Other cast members include Oliver Jackson-Cohen as Lucas, Ana Ularu as the Wicked Witch of the West, Gerran Howell as Jack, Jordan Loughran as Tip and Mido Hamada as Eamonn (via Variety).
Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers and scribe Heather Mitchell are developing a TV series adaptation of the 2013 book “Still Star-Crossed” at ABC.
The Shakespearean story “follows the conflict between the Capulets and the Montagues in the wake of Romeo and Juliet’s deaths” (via Variety).

Hulu has ordered a 13-ep second season of it’s original series “Casual”.
“Casual” follows the story of a dysfunctional family with a bachelor brother and his newly-divorced sister. Together, they coach each other through the crazy world of dating (on-line and off), while living under one roof again and raising a teenager.
The first season is currently airing with new episodes available every Wednesday.
Kurtwood Smith will play Vernon Masters in ABC’s “Marvel’s Agent Carter” season 2.
The character is described as a veteran of the War Department with a keen understanding of how to work the system.
Hayley Atwell stars in the show as the titular Agent Carter opposite James D’Arcy as Edwin Jarvis, Chad Michael Murray as Agent Jack Thompson and Enver Gjokaj as Chief Daniel Sousa.
