Scorsese’s Goodfellas coming to TV

20 years after the release of the funktastic flick, those ‘Goodfellas are returning to our screens – albeit not a 12-foot one.

Deadline reports that Martin Scorsese’s 1990 film (what is it with these tardy TV spin-offs of late? Ron Howard’s “Parenthood”, also released in 1990, just spawned a series – though, to be fair, it’s actually the second time that yarn’s been transferred to the telly) will be getting the series treatment. Nicholas Pileggi, writer of the flick, is onboard in a limited capacity – he’ll pen the pilot (then ask Marty for more money if they want him back for further eps).

Warner Bros, who sent the film out in cans, will get first refusal on the series.

No idea whether “Goodfellas : The TV Show” will follow the same plot as the film – Henry Hill and so on – or center around a new bunch of spaghetti-eating, gun-carrying goons.

Whatever the case, Lorraine Bracco’s available.

Some cool Mad Max : Fury Road stuff!
