Ewan McGregor has joined the cast of Bryan Singer’s latest “Jack the Giant Killer”. Heat Vision says the “Star Wars” star will play the leader of the gang’s elite guard, a group sent in to fight giants.The film lenses in London this March.

In addition to the bunch of names mentioned earlier, What’s Playing has another name to add to the list of actors being considered for The Bourne Legacy : Shia LaBeouf. LaBeouf worked with producer Frank Marshall on Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull so no surprise that he’d be approached.

Eammon Walker has snagged the lead role in Ron Moore’s “17th Precinct” pilot, according to Deadline. Steve Carell will play a Vegas magician in the comedy “Burt Wonderstone”. According to THR, Charles McDougall (“The Office”) is in talks to direct the picture, the story of a traditional magic man who is dethroned by a hip younger illusionist and must then find a way to rediscover his love for magic.

Patrick Wilson (“The A-Team”) and James Marsden (“Hop”) are set to star in the indy thriller “Loft”, according to Variety. A remake of the Belgian picture of the same name, and directed by original helmer Erik Van Looy, the film follows five married friends who decide to rent a loft together where they can bring their mistresses. When the body of an unknown woman is found in the loft, they realize that they don’t know each other as well as they thought and begin to suspect one another of murder.
