Vikander may be new Bourne girl

Rising starlet Alicia Vikander (“The Man from U.N.C.L.E”, “Ex Machina”) is being courted for a couple of colossal blockbusters.

According to Deadline, the actress – who is attached to “The Circle” with Tom Hanks, which is currently being shopped at Cannes – is tipped to be up for the female lead in the new “Bourne Identity” sequel, starring alongside Matt Damon.

Vikander would follow the likes OF Franka Potente and Julia Stiles, previous female leads in the Jason Bourne-centric additions to the franchise. Rachel Weisz was the female lead in the spin-off “The Bourne Legacy” opposite Jeremy Renner.

In addition, Vikander is wanted for Justin Kurzel’s film adaptation of the video game “Assassin’s Creed”. She’d play the female lead to Michael Fassbender’s headline act. The film reunite Vikander and Fassbender, who previously co-starred in “The Light Between Oceans”.

Because she’s now spoilt for choice, and said to be very interested in getting involved in both “Bourne” and “Creed”, the trade says Vikander may drop out of “The Circle”. Should that happen, “Harry Potter” actress Emma Watson is in line to replace her.
