Care to watch a black-and-white version of Mad Max : Fury Road?

George Miller’s preferred version of current hit “Mad Max : Fury Road” isn’t the sensational-looking zany-colored explosion of orange and teal that’s currently on screens, but a black-and-white version he tinkered with.

Speaking with /Film, Miller explained that the studio would probably have never allowed him to release “Fury Road” in B/W, because the color palette isn’t usually used in commercial movies, but he personally loves the look of it.

“The best version of this movie is black and white, but people reserve that for art movies now. The other thing you can do is go really all-out on the color. Teal and orange are the colors we had to work with. The desert is orange and the sky is teal, and you can either de-saturate it or crank it up. It can get really tiring just watching dull, de-saturated color, unless you go all the way out and make it black and white.”

Will we ever see that version?

According to Miller, he’s asked that the B/W version be included on the Blu-ray release of the film.
