Wanted : Green Hornet Director

He’ll stay on as Kato, but Stephen Chow will no longer be directing the big-screen version of “The Green Hornet”.

The official line is that the “Kung Fu Hustle” helmer gave up the director’s chair over ‘creative differences’. That could mean anything. Writer these excuses up on separrate bits of paper, put them into a cap, and pull one out – chances are you’re close.

1) Seth Rogen wanted ball padding, Chow thought it more believable he didn’t

2) The studio despised Chow’s determination not to just point-and-shoot

3) The producers kept referring to Chow as ‘Mr Lee’

4) Chow thought a furry alien sidekick would be fun!

So… who wants to direct a “Green Hornet” movie? Applications close soon – or whenever Kevin Smith’s arm-wrestled by Rogen into helming it.
