West Hollywood Resnorter : Studio approves of Star Trek 2 script without reading it!

Paramount has, according to Screen Rant, greenlit the Star Trek sequel script without having read a single page of it.

The Trek community is, of course, gleeful but shitting fear.

Some are saying this is overtly lazy (“They don’t care about the film, they just know it’ll make money anyway”), I say it’s simply an indication of how graciously confident Paramount are in not only J.J Abrams but scripties Orci and Kurtzman.

“But what if it’s shit?”, someone just muttered in a forum.

Well if it is, it won’t be the first time Paramount have greenlit a shit movie – not even the first time they’ve greenlit a shit “Star Trek” movie without seeing a script first.

But Carmon’,If the first film is anything to go by, Bob and Al’s script for the J.J Abrams sequel is likely going to be very good – regardless of whether a studio accountant at Paramount gets his ‘five cents in’ (and if he did, it’ll likely be something along the lines of “More fucking teddy bear looking alien things. That’s what this thing needs. Picture pull-strings on your characters”).

More so, just because Paramount hasn’t screen the whole dang script for the thing (which, by the way, is not even done) – they will, and is usually the case with these big films, it’ll be tweaked, touched-up and twisted (shit, sounds like I’m referring to fondling boobies) up until that final day of filming. And besides that, Paramount brass would have seen script notes, a treatment (or scriptment) and had numerous conversations with the writers about the film’s theme and stratagem.

Also, you really think this “Star Trek” reboot franchise is going to survive if the next film is junk!? Of course it won’t. Sure, you can sell a polished turd once, but second time around folks are going to pick up on the familiar scent.

Jedi’s Orci and Kurtzman to Paramount’s Storm Trooper : “You don’t need to see the script”. And, you know, they really don’t. The only person that needs to read that bitch and make sure it’s fucking amazing is J.J Abrams – and from what I hear he’s a goddamn perfectionist who demands the best; that’s a great thing.
