Guy Pearce and Kate Beckinsale also starring
So where to now after the amazing “King of Scotland” and that not-so-surprising Golden Globe win this week for Forest Whitaker?
Well, besides up?
According to The Herald Sun, Whitaker – for my money, he’s just as grand in “Good Morning Vietnam” (1987) as well; check it out again – is in talks to star in Australian filmmaker Rowan Woods’ (“Little Fish”) next film, “Winged Creatures”.
The film, set in L.A, tells of a group of survivors of a diner shootout. Guy Pearce and Kate Beckinsale have already signed to star.
“There’s a role in it I really like”, Whitaker said. “I just asked Cate Blanchett about her work with him [Woods] on Little Fish and she was expressing that she thought he was one of the most talented directors she’d worked with and the most powerful one in Australia. I was really happy to hear that because I was charmed by his vision of the movie”.
Woods, in a recent interview, said the film is ” a deep and moving study about a group of people who, at close hand, experience a shooting,” he explains. “Basically it’s a very serious critique of American society.”
