Will Ferrell has booked his next starring role in “The House”, a New Line film which he will also produce.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, New Line bought the script from “Neighbors” writers Andrew J. Cohen and Brendan O’Brian.
The script follows a married couple (Ferrell will play the husband) who lose their daughter’s college fund. In order to earn back the cash, they team up with their neighbors to start an illegal casino in their basement.
Cohen will direct the film in his feature directorial debut with production likely to kick off in August.
Ferrell will produce with Adam McKay for their Gary Sanchez company with Good Universe. Exec producers are Chris Hency and Jessica Elbaum.
