The Weinstein Company will partner with Will Ferrell’s Gloria Sanchez Productions on comedy “Plus One”.
TWC acquired the rights to the film which Gloria Sanchez Prods, a division of Gary Sanchez Prods dedicated to female driven projects, is producing.
The comedy, from April Prosser, follows a woman who comes out of a long-term relationship only to realize that all her friends have married off — leaving her with a loud, oversharing wild card named Summer as her only option for a wing woman.
“We’re thrilled to be on board with this hilarious and smart film by talented up-and-comer April Prosser,” said Harvey Weinstein. “Her script drew one of the strongest responses from our team that I’ve seen in a while.”
Ferrel will be lead producer along with Jessica Elbaum and Adam McKay.
