Ethan Hawke will play jazz trumpet player Chet Baker in Robert Budreau’s “Born to Be Blue”.
Carmen Ejogo and Callum Keith Rennie also star in the film which recently began filming.
The film follows Baker’s comeback after his destructive ways destroyed his career. It also looks at the love affair that changed the way he played music and helped him on the road to redemption.
Producers are Jennifer Jonas and Leonard Farlinger of New Real Films, Budreau of Lumanity Productions and Jake Seal of Black Hangar Studios. William Santor, John Hills, Andrew Chang-sang, Adam Moryto, Stefan Jacobs, D. Matt Geller and Gurpreet Chandhoke will exec produce.
