Fox are teaming up again with Craig Brewer (“Empire”) and Paramount Television for a smallscreen take on John Travolta classic “Urban Cowboy”.
According to Variety, the series will follow a star-crossed relationship set against the backdrop of rodeos, oil refineries, and dancing clubs.
Like the acclaimed “Friday Night Lights”, it will set in modern-day Texas.
“Empire” creator Brewer, who also helmed the “Foootlose” remake, is writing and directing the pilot, as well as executive producing the series.
