Remstar picks up Canadian rights to Paul Rudd-Steve Coogan comedy

Fortitude International has announced that Remstar Films has acquired the comedy “Ideal Home” (announced in February) for all rights in Canada. The film is co-financed by their sister company Remstar Studios. This is the first film co-financed by Remstar Studios along with the National Bank of Canada. Fortitude is handling international rights to the film here in Cannes.

The comedy began production May 11th and is currently shooting in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Paul (Paul Rudd) and Erasmus (Steve Coogan) are a bickering couple with an extravagant life. Erasmus is a demanding, popular celebrity, and Paul is his more hesitant partner and sidekick. But when Bill, the grandson Erasmus never knew he had, shows up at their high class dinner party with nowhere else to go, the couple reluctantly decide to take him in.

Cannes, France (May 14, 2016) – Remstar Films has acquired all Canadian rights in all media to the comedy feature film IDEAL HOME starring Paul Rudd (ANT-MAN, ANCHORMAN 1 & 2) and Oscar nominee Steve Coogan (PHILOMENA), it was announced today by Nadine de Barros, Co-Founder of Fortitude International. Written and directed by Andrew Fleming (HAMLET 2, THE CRAFT), this is the first project co-financed by sister company Remstar Studios alongside the National Bank of Canada.

Principal photography for the film began May 11th,, 2016 and is currently underway in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

The film is produced by Gabriella Tana (PHILOMENA, THE DUCHESS), Maria Theresa Arida (ARBITRAGE, CITY ISLAND), Aaron Ryder (FOUNDER, MUD), and Remstar Studio’s Clark Peterson and Maxime Remillard. Lisa Wolofsky of the National Bank of Canada is executive producing the film.

Fortitude International is handling foreign rights and is actively selling the film at the market in Cannes. UTA Independent Film Group and WME are repping US rights.
