Mark Swift and Damian Shannon (“Friday the 13th”, the upcoming “Baywatch”) will pen a reboot of Paul Verhoeven’s “Starship Troopers” for Sony Pictures.
The new film will again be based on the Robert A.Henlein novel that was adapted for the screen in 1997.
The new film, which is set to relaunch the franchise (that so far includes the Verhoeven film and several direct-to-DVD sequels), is going to stick closer to the source material than the Casper Van Dien starring movie did. No cast from the earlier film are expected to be involved in the new film.
