Vaughan going to Vegas

Takes over from Julian Farino as director

There’s been a switcheroo over on the new Cameron Diaz /Ashton Kutcher comedy “What Happens in Vegas”, according to Variety

Tom Vaughan has replaced Julian Farino as the film’s director.

Farino dropped off the project for scheduling reasons, and is now attached to helm Paramount and Plan B’s “The Year of Living Biblically.”

Set in Sin City, storyline revolves around two strangers who wake up to discover they got married sometime during the previous night’s drunken festivities, with one of them winning a huge jackpot on the other’s quarter. The couple set out to undermine each other and claim the coin, only to fall in love along the way.

Vaughan, who has directed and written for television, made his feature directorial debut in 2006 with U.K.-U.S. romantic comedy “Starter for Ten,” based on David Nicholl’s novel of the same name.
