Bruce Lee’s daughter plans biopic about her father

A Bruce Lee biopic is on its way from the action star’s daughter, Shannon Lee.

Bruce Lee Entertainment will partner with Lawrence Grey and Janet Yang to produce the film which will be the first about the iconic action figure to boast his family’s full involvement.

“There have been projects out there involving my father, but they’ve lacked a complete understanding of his philosophies and artistry,” Shannon Lee said. “They haven’t captured the essence of his beliefs in martial arts or storytelling. The only way to get audiences to understand the depth and uniqueness of my father is to generate our own material and find amazing, like-minded partners to work with.”

In 1973, at the age of 32, Bruce Lee died in Hong Kong after collapsing during an ADR session for “Enter the Dragon”.

Deadline reported the news first.
