Judd Nelson, star of the 1987 TV mini-series “Billionaire Boys Club”, is set to play the father of his character in the film remake.
Nelson joins Ansel Elgort, Taron Egerton and Kevin Spacey in the cast of the film in which he’ll play Ryan Hunt, the father of Elgort’s Joe Hunt (Nelson played Joe Hunt in the 1987 original).
Egerton will play tennis pro Dean Karny, Spacey will play Ron Levin, Suki Waterhouse will play Karny’s love interest Quintana and Emma Roberts will play Hunt’s love interest Sydney.
James Cox is directing the film about Hunt and Karny’s early 1980’s Ponzi scheme called the Billionaire Boys Club. When Levin’s investment turned out to be worthless, the scheme collapsed and, in 1987, Hunt was convicted of Levin’s murder.
