Amy Sherman Pallandino’s Bunheads axed

Classified Section : Gilmore Girls in Tutu’s Seek Work.

ABC Family has chopped “Bunheads”, the Amy Sherman Pallandino dance-centric series that, looking at these figures I have here, seems to have rated OK. It’s not all about ratings these days, though; the cancellation is said to be based on the network needing to make space on their schedule for new shows – which, of course, they imagine will rate better than the bereaved (doesn’t usually turn out that way).

“Bunheads is a wonderful series that we are very proud to have aired,” ABC Family said in a statement (via TV Line). “The series had amazing storytelling, the most talented cast and a passionate and loyal fan base. Recognizing all of this, we took extra time to try and find ways to bring the series back for another season, but in the end it simply wasn’t possible. We wish the cast and crew the best in their future endeavors.”

May the show live on in your hearts.
