Another April Fool’s Day?

1986 horror pic eyed for the remake treatment

Again proof that anything’s ripe for remaking (regardless of the fact whether the original was even any good), Bloody Disgusting reports that the forgettable 1986 horror pic “April Fool’s Day” is being remodeled for a contemporary audience.

The Butcher Brothers (“After Dark”, “The Hamilton’s”) will write and direct the new version. Both Columbia and Paramount are in talks to distribute.

The first film – which starred a post-“Back to the Future” Thomas F.Wilson – told of a group of nine college students who are staying at a friend’s remote island mansion and begin to fall victim to an unseen murderer over the April Fool’s day weekend. Fred Walton (“When A Stranger Calls”) directed the pic.

Terrific Teamings on the way
