Terrific Teamings on the way

Pitt & Clooney do another; Hoffman & Streep unite!

Brad Pitt and George Clooney, the stars of the “Ocean’s” films, are set to reunite on a new Coen Bros’ movie called “Burn After Reading”, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The black comedy, which also stars Frances McDormand, centers on a CIA agent who loses the disc of the book he is writing. Like the film’s title, the screenplay is shrouded in secrecy, and it is unclear what role Pitt will play.

The actor will begin shooting the film in late August.

Meanwhile, another powerhouse Meryl Streep and Philip Seymour Hoffman are set to team – for the first time – for writer-director John Patrick Shanley’s feature adaptation of his Broadway hit “Doubt.”

In the big-screen adaptation of Shanley’s Pulitzer Prize- and Tony-winning play set in 1964, Streep will play Sister Aloysius, a nun and principal of a New York Catholic school who accuses a priest (Hoffman) of sexually abusing one of his students, leading to an escalating debate over his guilt or innocence. The role of Sister James, another leading role, has yet to be cast.

Streep takes over the part originated in 2005 by Tony winner Cherry Jones, who is starring in a touring production of the play. Hoffman’s role was originated by Brian F. O’Byrne.
