Brent Spiner will reprise his role as Dr. Brackish Okun from “Independence Day” in the upcoming sequel.
Curiously, the character seemed to have bit the dust in the original 1996 movie.
In addition, “Oz : The Great & Powerful” actress Joey King has joined the cast of the Roland Emmerich-directed movie; her role is unknown at this point.
Spiner and King join Jeff Goldblum, Vivica Fox, Liam Hemsworth, Jessie Usher and Charlotte Gainsbourg in the movie, which is due in theaters June 24, 2016.
