Benjiman Bratt replaces Al Pacino for Despicable Me 2

Al Pacino has split on Universal’s “Despicable Me 2″… just two months shy of the film’s release!

Thankfully, it’s an animated project so the Oscar Winning actor CAN be replaced without much fuss.

Pacino, who had recorded most of his lines as the film’s villain, apparently had creative differences with the studio and Universal and Illumination, according to Deadline.

A replacement has been found fairly quickly, Benjamin Bratt (“Catwoman”, “Miss Congeniality”). Bratt, who appeared opposite Dwayne Johnson in this year’s “Snitch”, has done voice work in both “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” films, playing Manny.

Chris Renaud and Pierre Coffin directed the sequel to the 2010 release, due July 2.
