Bill & Ted 3 Plot revealed; script due in 6 weeks

It surprises me that – and thinking about it, I guess it’s got something to do with getting older, roles become scarcer and scarcer and wanting to reward the fans for their support over the years, whereas back when he was being chased for these other films he was young and drowning in offers – Keanu Reeves would rule out returning to the role of Jack Travern for a new “Speed” sequel, let alone a “Point Break” follow-up, and yet is committed to a third “Bill & Ted” film. Reeves has always said that there’s got to be a story worth telling for him to do a movie – which is fair enough, but surely a new “Speed” would encompass just as exciting a tale as a “Bill & Ted 3”, right? Maybe “Speed 2” put him off, but what about “Point Break”? Er…Whatever… it’s nice to hear that Reeves hasn’t forgotten his roots and, as I said, is out to reward the fans by returning to one of his trademark roles.

Reeves tells MTV Movies Blog that the script for “Bill & Ted 3” is just six weeks away from it’s hand-in date, but more so, it sounds like Reeves is definitely onboard.

“I know a little bit. But I don’t know — the fellas went off and cooked it up,” Reeves says in response to a question about the storyline. “I don’t know what happened when they put the elements together.”
Still, Reeves offers a stumpy synopsis : “When we last got together, part of it was that Bill and Ted were supposed to have written the song that saved the world, and it hasn’t happened,” he said. “So they’ve now become kind of possessed by trying to do that. Then there’s an element of time and they have to go back.”

On a final note, I must say Keanu Reeves – for all the flack he cops – is one of the nicest and most genuine people you will ever meet. There’s only a handful of big-time actors I remember being super-cordial and glowing with appreciation and Reeves is definitely one of them.
