Brad bites the Bullitt?

Pitt likes fast cars, says source.

“Troy” and “Das Boot” director Wolfgang Peterson has been linked to a remake of the Steve McQueen classic “Bullitt” for a few years now – and by linked, I mean, he could-be-sorta-maybe-interested if it ever came off but there’s hardly been any concrete info from his camp on whether he’s actually gunning for it or anything, so chances are he mentioned it in passing to someone who cooked it into a story and presto, it’s on the web! – and now, according to The Post Chronicle, his “Troy” lead – no not, Eric Bana, the other guy, the one that use to bump uglies with Rachel from “Friends” – is up for the starring role.

Brad Pitt. Yeah. Apparently he’s who they’re looking at to star in the thing.

The Post Chronicle quoted a source – probably the guy that works at Dunkin Donuts whose heard that ‘that dude that does it with Lara Croft wants to remake McQueen’s fuckin’ movie!’ from his second cousin, who lives in Burbank – saying, “”Brad shares a lot of the same passions as Steve McQueen – including a love of motorbikes and fast cars – so it was a dream role for him.”

The original film sees the tough detective hunting a hitman who has killed his fellow officers. The movie is renowned for featuring one of the best car chases in cinema history as McQueen’s Mustang car speeds through the rollercoaster streets of San Francisco.

Brad’s been linked to the movie before. They’ve been banding his name about for the film for about four of five years now. What makes this time any different? Um, I dunno…. The fact that the guy from Dunkin’ Donuts went on the record?
