How Suicide Squad changed an Arrow storyline

As far as DC are concerned, films are still more important than television.

Case in point : Though TV’s “Arrow” had decided to bring the character of ‘Harley Quinn’ into the fold, their plans were soon stopped by the movie brass who, planning to have the character in the movie “Suicide Squad”, weren’t keen on sharing Harley with the small screen.

Though Harley Quinn appeared very briefly during the second season of “Arrow”, plans to use her on a regular basis were thwarted by David Ayer’s “Suicide Squad”.

Explains “Arrow” actress Willa Holland : “We had big plans for Harley. But, I guess something came down from DC execs that told us to shut it down,” the actress told attendees at MCM London. “I mean we had that tease with the pigtails and the ARGUS outfit but, we’ll never see it. We would love to Harley in Arrow but it will never happen.”

“Arrow” can’t use Batman, we get that, but Harley Quinn? Seems a little odd that she couldn’t exist in both forms – especially when Deadshot and Deathstroke appear on both “Arrow” and in the “Suicide Squad” feature.

“Arrow” returns for it’s fourth season – without Harley – in the Fall.
