Casting Call, Synopsis’s for the two new Cabin Fever prequels

Enjoyed Eli Roth’s “Cabin Fever”, it’s probably one of the more inventive teen horror films of the past decade. Though the sequel wasn’t much scratch, they’re headed back to the well for two more “Cabin Fever” movies (as reported in Feb).

Now we’re told they’ve begun casting this week for the first film in the series, “Cabin Fever : Patient Zero”. In particular, the hunt is on to find a skeletal bloke named ‘Porter Wells’ :

[ PORTER WELLS ]
30 to 50, looking for a very thin actor, able to play an unhealthy, infected patient. A handsome, conservative looking man, with a wife and daughter, he’s the sole survivor of an outbreak of the flesh eating virus. Terrified when he’s literally taken prisoner for the crime of being a survivor, Porter has his civil rights meticulously stripped from him as he’s turned into a lab rat by Dr. Edwards. Very very angry that he’s been forcibly separated from his family, and aware that he’ll be a prisoner until they find a vaccine, Porter plots a ruthless, determined revenge, as he has one very potent weapon at his disposal: his infectious bodily fluids..

And here are the synopsis’s of both films :

“Cabin Fever: Patient Zero” : Marcus Bently is an alluring, suntanned, physically strapping young American man who who’s passion for sailing and diving inspired him to open a business leading undersea diving adventures with his best buddy, Dobs Towe. Marcus goes to the Dominican Republic because he falls in love with an heiress of a wealthy family, Catalina Arias, with whom he intends to marry – albeit with a slight case of cold feet. Catalina sets up a lavish bachelor party for Marcus and his friends aboard a luxury yacht, which ends up floating too close to an uncharted island. The island is a scientific research facility run by an inhumane Dr. Edwards, who is intent on finding a vaccine for a flesh-eating virus that could strip humanity literally down to the bones. Marcus and his friends must find a way to survive before the flesh eating disease consumes them all.

“Cabin Fever: Outbreak” : In this second film in the prequels, a doctor and his family travel to a remote Caribbean island to investigate a minor flu outbreak, only to discover a vicious flesh-eating virus that threatens everyone on the island. The family is faced with responsibility to prevent a worldwide epidemic.

The first film, “Patient Zero” kicks off it’s shoot next month in the Dominican Republic.
