Fred Savage in Deadpool 2 re-release

As rumoured a couple of days back, a PG-13 version of “Deadpool 2” will be released at Christmas.

Amusingly, the new kid-friendly version will be bookended with a “Princess Bride” homage featuring Fred Savage reprising his role from the 1987 classic, with Deadpool himself filling in for granddad Peter Falk.

A look at the moment from the new re-edited “Deadpool 2” is below, along with the original scene from the “Princess Bride”.

Meantime, Reynolds is working on a new film with “Night at the Museum” helmer Shawn Levy. “Free Guy” is a sci-fi action comedy from Fox, said to be in the vein of ”Wreck-It-Ralph” that fixes on a background computer game character who discovers he lives in a video game and works to prevent the makers of the game from shutting it down with the help of an avatar. Matt Lieberman, writer of the upcoming “Scooby Doo!” and “Short Circuit” remakes, is penning.

The PG-13 cut of ”Deadpool 2” will be hitting theaters on Dec. 21.
