Godzilla 2 will feature King Kong!

Legendary Pictures’ Thomas Tull is undertaking the rather ambitious task of teaming two colossal giants of the big screen, Godzilla and King Kong.

So that the team-up movie can happen, Tull is moving Legendary’s untitled Skull Island King Kong movie to Warner Bros- who have the rights to Legendary’s “Godzilla” franchise. The film had previously been set up with Universal.

The “Godzilla” sequel would then see the iconic Toho monster going scales to fluffy chest against the giant ape from the Skull Island pic.

Though this is all said to be happening pretty quickly, Skull Island comes out first. It, a prequel to “King Kong”, stars Samuel L.Jackson, John C.Reilly, Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Corey Hawkins, Tom Wilkinson and the title character (likely CGI?). The film begins production either later this year or early next.
Deadline first reported this news.
