Canadian actress turned filmmaker Helen Shaver will direct and executive produce NBC’s “Quantum Leap” reboot.
Per Deadline, though the new series is set in the same continuity as the original ’80s series, star Scott Bakula has not yet signed on to reprise his role as Dr. Samuel Beckett.
It’s been 30 years since Beckett stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished. Now a new team has been assembled to restart the project in the hopes of understanding the mysteries behind the machine and the man who created it.
Key characters in the new series include Dr.Ben Prassard, the show’s new time-traveler, a world-renowned physicist and a man of faith.
