Jackson to be involved in The Hobbit?

But not as director, because they’ve got one

New Line’s Bob Shaye has come out saying he hopes Peter Jackson will be involved in the “Lord of the Rings” prequel, “The Hobbit”.

The two of course came to blows over profits arising from the ”Rings” trilogy. Now the New Line CEO tells the LA Times that “I really respect and admire Peter and would love for him to be creatively involved in some way in ‘The Hobbit.'”

When he says involved, he’s not referring to directing because that duty looks like going to the oft-rumoured Sam Raimi.

IESB reports that Raimi was made an offer to direct a remake of “Clash of the Titans” but doesn’t look like accepting the offer because he’s in talks to helm “The Hobbit”.

You can look for the ‘Special Thanks to…’ credit for Peter Jackson on prints of “The Hobbit” when it hits theatres in a couple of year’s time.
