Jeff Nichols is making a deal at 20th Century Fox to write and direct a new version of 1988 sci-fi thriller “Alien Nation”, reports Deadline.
The original film starred James Caan as a racist cop who is forced to team up with a member of an alien race (Mandy Patinkin) which came to Earth when a ship carrying 300,000 enslaved aliens crashed in Los Angeles.
Nichols will also produce the film with Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Sara Greene.
