Jump Street doing all-female spin-off?

Jonah Hill, left and Channing Tatum in Columbia Picture's "21 Jump Street."

The “21 Jump Street” franchise might be taking a cue from the next “Ghostbusters” film.

With everything ‘all-female’ trending on the cinematic socials right now, The Wrap reports a rather believable rumour that Sony are considering spinning-off the Channing Tatum/Jonah Hill movie series by way of a female-led comedy.

“Broad City” scribes Lucia Aniello and Paul W. Downs are writing the script for the film, which would apparently exist alongside the forthcoming “23 Jump Street” starring Tatum and Hill.

While there’s no word on who Sony are looking at to headline the film, I’d say the idea to have Dakota Johnson – now a big star thanks to her turn in “Fifty Shades of Grey” – reprise her role as the young officer (that bumped uglies with Tatum’s character) from the first “Jump Street” movie would’ve definitely been floated.

Meanwhile, the “23 Jump Street” is said to be mixing it up too – by doing a crossover with the “Men in Black” movie universe.
