Asa Butterfield may be the new Spider-Man

Expect an announcement any day now pertaining to Sony’s new Spider-Man.

A number of sites, namely the oft-reliable Latino Review, are reporting that Asa Butterfield (“Ender’s Game”, “Hugo”) has emerged as the studio’s top-pick for Peter Parker in the upcoming “Spider-Man” reboot. If Butterfield gets the nod, he’ll also be required to strap on the cherry suit for the upcoming “Captain America : Civil War” – which will serve as the web-slinger’s first big screen appearance under Marvel Studios rule.

Nat Wolff, Tom Holland, Timothee Chalamet and Liam James were also said to be up for the role, but according to Latino Review Butterfield may have already snagged the part.
