Nick Jonas cast in Chaos Walking

Pop-star turned actor Nick Jonas has joined the cast of “Chaos Walking”, alongside Tom Holland, Daisy Ridley, Mads Mikkelsen, Demian Bichir and Kurt Sutter. The movie is an adaptation of the book by Patrick Ness.

THR reports that the movie is a dystopian trilogy about a world where all thoughts are visible in a stream of projected sounds and images called “The Noise.” It features a male and female protagonist as leads, bracing for a planetary war. Jonas will play Davy Prentiss Jr., a young soldier in Mayor Prentiss’ army fueled by jealousy over his father’s (Mikkelson) mentorship of longtime rival Todd Hewitt (Holland).

The film is set to begin filming shortly, with a March 1, 2019 date locked in. The script was adapted by Charlie Kaufman (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind), Patrick Ness, Lindsey Beer, Gary Spinelli and John Lee Hancock.

Jonas will next be seen in “Jumanji” alongside Dwayne Johnson, and is slowly but surely working his way out of the virginal “Jonas Brother” reputation he held for so long. His music career is still trucking along nicely though, with his third solo album released last year.
