The sequel to 2013’s “Now You See Me” will begin production in September, with a shoot planned to lens in the U.S, Europe and Asia, according to the head-honcho of Lionsgate.
The 007-esque globe-spanning shoot for the sequel is “to capitalize on the property’s international appeal” said Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer.
According to Fletheimer, talking to analysts in a call to discuss Lionsgate’s fiscal Q3 earnings, most of the cast of the original film are expected to return “and some exciting new additions”.
The Louis Letterier-directed “Now You See Me” starred Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Isla Fisher, Michael Caine, Dave Franco, Morgan Freeman, Melanie Laurent and Mark Ruffalo. One can imagine Harrelson and new “Batman vs. Superman” addition Eisenberg might be hard to entice into the sequel, if only because of their schedules, but one expects the majority of the cast will be easily lured back.
