SPIDER-MAN MUSICAL POSTPONED
Though it’s been running in previews for a couple of weeks now, the creators of the troubled “Spider-Man : Turn Off the Dark” musical have decided to postpone to press pause on the project for the meantime. According to the New York Times, producers feel a February opening will serve them better because it will “provide more time for the creators to stage a new final number, make further rewrites to the dialogue and consider adding and cutting scenes and perhaps inserting new music from the composers, U2’s Bono and the Edge, who will resume working full-time on the show in late December.”
LUSSIER ON HALLOWEEN 3, HELLRAISER
Though the film’s producer loves their pitch, Patrick Lussier and Todd Farmer’s “Halloween III 3D” is still to give the thumbs up from The Weinstein Company. Says Lussier, “You’d really have to ask Dimension Films and Bob Weinstein,” he tells Moviefone. “We were very excited about the script we wrote. Malek Akkad was very excited about the script we wrote. We loved Malek and we’d love to make the movie with him, but that’s up to the grown-ups who are above our pay grade, so who knows. I am frequently surprised by whatever happens next.” Meantime Lussier is working on a remake of “Hellraiser” and talks a little about it here.

GREEN LANTERN STORYBOARDS REVEAL VILLAINS?
ComicBookMovie have concept art and storyboards up for “The Green Lantern” that would seem to confirm the involvement of Parallax and Krona in the picture. Speaking of “The Green Lantern”, remember when Jack Black was attached to star in a more comedic version of the movie? Yeah? So does he. “Yeah, some people may know that for a minute there, long ago, there was talk of a more comedic version of Green Lantern, but yeah, it wasn’t meant to be”, the “Gulliver’s Travels” star tells MTV.
UPDATE, IMAGES FROM TORTURE CHAMBER
Filmmaker Dante Tomaselli tells us that “Torture Chamber”, his latest pillow-hugging effort, is in its final stages of sound mixing. Tomaselli’s hallucinatory horror shocker is about a possessed 13-year-old boy who escapes from an asylum and discovers an old abandoned castle with a secret passageway to a cobwebbed torture chamber. HULK GOING VAMPIRE HUNTING
Eric Bana (“Star Trek”) is meeting with director Timur Bekmambetov to discuss possibly playing the lead role in the filmmaker’s “Abraham Lincoln : Vampire Hunter”, according to The Wrap. A detailed description of the character was recently posted at What’s Playing and said ”THE SAME ACTOR WILL PLAY ABRAHAM AS HE AGES FROM 20 to 56.
At 20, not yet the iconic image we associate with our 16th President, this version of Abe is tall, boyish, and occasionally impulsive; a kind, intelligent, well-spoken and good-hearted man, if a bit awkward at social events and around the ladies. ANT MAN STILL EXCITES EDGAR WRIGHT
Filmmaker Edgar Wright (“Scott Pilgrim vs. The World”) tells Digital Spy that, despite it being now five years in development, he’s still very keen on bringing Marvel’s “Ant Man” to the big screen. “I think it’s an advantage that he’s a character to maybe have a little more fun and lisence with. It’s funny, I met Stan Lee in the States and he told me that Ant-Man was the one character that he came up with they never got right, himself included, that when he used to write him, they never quite nailed it even though it was the best idea.”

Return of the Jedi (1983)
After witnessing that very disturbing bit of video footage – showing the deaths of Han, Chewie and Leia – from the new “Star Wars” video game, set in alternate “Return of the Jedi” universe, I just had to make “Return of the Jedi” the classic trailer of the day. I still remember how excited I was to see this movie, do you? The cinemas were packed!
