Ron Howard’s Sea movie floats to December

The highly-anticipated “In the Heart of the Sea”, directed by Ron Howard and starring Chris Hemsworth, has been pushed back 9 months.

Originally due for release March 13, the film has been shifted to the pre-Christmas season – now opening December 11.

Hemsworth, Benjamin Walker, Cillian Murphy and Tom Holland star as the crew of a whaling ship that attempt to stay alive after a whale sinks their vessel.

The move to ‘awards season’ suggests that Warner Bros are confident “In the Heart of the Sea” has a shot at winning some statues.
